He served as General Manager of a $250M OCONUS program for the U.S. Government to correct life-safety deficiencies on military bases across Afghanistan, with a staff of more than 250 engineers, tradespeople, and support personnel from the U.S. and U.K.

He has worked at leading firms including Perkins & Will, Teng/exp, and Cannon Design, on new and renovation construction in the federal, healthcare, institutional, educational, and commercial markets. More recently he built an engineering firm from the ground up, providing engineering and commissioning services to the federal government.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer, ACG Certified Commissioning Agent, City of Chicago Certified Energy Engineer, and a member of ASHRAE and SAME.

Before joining HBE, he served as Electrical Department Manager at recognized architecture and engineering firms including Epstein, EYP, and Teng. He brings engineering and commissioning expertise across healthcare, aviation, laboratory, commercial, institutional, and education buildings, and is considered an expert in building electrical systems.

He works directly with clients, architects, engineers, sub-consultants, AHJs, utility providers, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements within budget, and has performed site assessments, feasibility studies, and forensic reports. He has working knowledge of the VA Standards, FGI, NEC, NEMA, NFPA (including 72, 99, and 101), ANSI, DOE, LEED, NETA, and IEEE.

He has designed HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, process piping, critical-care medical gas piping, and industrial ventilation systems for private and government clients, across hospitality, healthcare, aviation, laboratory, commercial, institutional, and education buildings.

He is an expert in evaluating existing building systems and performing facility assessments, with in-depth knowledge of the VA Standards, FGI, NFPA 99 and 101, ASHRAE, UL, SMACNA, ASPE Standards, and the Uniform Building Code. Throughout his career he has mentored countless engineers.

His career began in 1967 at The Robert Irsay Company in Chicago as an engineer, field installer, and shop fabricator on pharmaceutical and semiconductor cleanrooms, healthcare and commercial buildings, and nuclear power plants. He joined Climatemp in 1983 and served as Executive V.P. in roles including Contract Manager, Chief Operations Officer, and Claims Analyst.

He was Account Manager for the mechanical contract scope at McCormick Place West Building Expansion, a 2.5-million-square-foot addition, and the billion-dollar replacement hospital for Northwestern. He also served on the SMACNA Duct Construction Standards Committee.
